Cast and Creatives
by John Godber
CAROL - Loveday Smith started her acting career in London’s West End, in theatre and musicals, working for directors like Sam Mendes, the late Sir Peter Hall and our author John Godber OBE. She has made many TV and film appearances including Coronation Street, Heartbeat and and a recurring role in Hunter Street for Nickelodeon. QETC devotees will also remember her as Susan in A Bed Among the Lentils by Alan Bennett.
DON- Mark Winstanley has played roles from Shakespeare to Sondheim. Musical highlights include playing Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, directed by Barrie Stevens. In 2018 he filmed a small role in Lyrebird, a major film starring Guy Pearce. As well as working in corporate film and providing voiceovers in English, French and Dutch, he is QETC’s artistic director. Their 2018 production of The Importance of Being Earnest garnered rave reviews and was 100% sold out.
WRITER - John Godber is reputedly the third most performed UK playwright, after Shakespeare and Ayckbourn. Certainly his plays like Up’N’ Under, Bouncers and Teechers have made him a household name in the UK with the first two having been filmed and with many more TV credits to his name besides. Scary Bikers is, in part, his response to Brexit with plans to make it into a film in 2019.
